Franklin County’s impressive winning streak is now at 12 games after the Bulldogs routed the Tylertown Chiefs 22-4 in five innings Friday night in a Region 7-3A game.
Tylertown actually led this game 2-0 at the end of the first inning, but that lead quickly eroded as Franklin County scored 14 runs in the bottom of the second inning and the rout was on.
The Bulldogs continued to put the pressure on Tylertown’s pitchers as they scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning and then ended the game after scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
With the win, Franklin County inched closer to clinching a spot in the Class 3A playoffs as it improved to 15-6 overall and 8-2 in Region 7-3A.
Franklin County was led by winning pitcher Ryan Ratcliff, who went 3-for-4 with a triple, and Dane Hodges, who was 3-for-4 with a double. The Bulldogs pounded out 19 hits in the game.
