Virginia Fisher

Services for Virginia H. Fisher, 73, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, in Baton Rouge, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Natchez First Baptist Church with the Rev. Odean Puckett and Dr. Judson W. Hurt officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Fisher was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Vicksburg, the daughter of George Ludwick Hunter and Myrtis Jane Calcote Hunter. She was a member of Natchez First Baptist Church. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Vidalia, where she served as Past Matron, Past District Deputy Grand Matron, Grand Representative of Alabama in Louisiana. She also was an amateur Radio Operator with call sign KD5JAR. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Steamboat Sam’s Camping Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilson C. “Little Blackie” Andrews; and brother, George Hunter.

Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Fisher Jr. of Vidalia; sons, Wilson Andrews and wife, Brenda, of Laurel, Gene Andrews and wife, Debra, of Lakeside, Calif. and Jamie Andrews and wife, Vicki, of Georgetown, Texas; stepsons, Charles E. Fisher III and wife, Tanya, of Natchez and Terry Fisher and wife, Deborah, of Natchez; sister, Helen Fincher and husband, Charlie, of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Hunter of Lucien; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Shaw, Eddie Hunter, Perry Pittman Jr., Mike Fisher, Sammy DiCarlo, Elvon Howell, J. R. “Buck” Denny and Ken Allen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hiram Copeland, Billy Hammers, Charlie Ferguson, members of the Vidalia Police Department and members of Concordia Masonic Lodge No. 305.
