James Freeman

Services for James David “J.D.” Freeman, 76, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 7, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, in Meadville, under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Mr. Freeman was born Oct. 16, 1930, in Arkansas, the son of Virgil and Carrie Aldridge Freeman. He was the retired owner of Oaptco Oil Company. He was a member of Hamburg Baptist Church. Mr. Freeman had served in the Korean War and U.S. Marines.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Sybil Creech Freeman of Natchez; his son, James David Freeman II of Natchez; daughter, Kay Freeman of Natchez; sisters, Beatrice Hilderbrand of Bentonia and Mary Opal McKinney of Natchez; grandson, James David Freeman III; and four step-grandchildren.
