Services for Nore Prater, 60, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie Birdon officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Prater was born June 12, 1946, in Ferriday, the son of Jonas and Edorkis Keller Prater. He was a retired security guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, John Prater.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Prater and Allen Watson, both of Ferriday, John Prater and wife, Mary, Alonzo Prater and wife, Karen, and Preston Prater, all of Milwaukee, Wisc., Leon Mosby and wife, Rose, Lionel Mosby and wife, Ollie Beth, all of Monroe; daughters, Deloris Bass and husband, Roosevelt, Rena Calhoun, Chilla Prater and Candance Calhoun, all of Ferriday; sisters, Lillie Birdon and husband, the Rev. Willie Birdon and Patricia Martin, all of Ferriday, Jonetta Prater of Savannah, Ga., Donetta Walker of Monroe, Brenda Prater and Sandra Prater, both of Milwaukee, Ronda Branch and husband, Perry, of Los Angeles, Sherry White and husband, Richard, of Vidalia; godsister, Jackie Willie of Ferriday; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three aunts; an uncle; a great-aunt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
