Services for Leona Moritz Smith, 77, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Monroe, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith was born March 6, 1930, in Natchez, the daughter of Bernard Eugene Moritz Jr. and Evelyn Elizabeth Farr Moritz. She was a member of Vidalia United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Carl Frederick Smith.

Survivors include her son, Carl F. Smith Jr. and wife, Trish, of Shreveport; daughters, Elizabeth S. Thomas and husband, Luke, of Monroe and Lisa S. Skates and husband, Billy, of Vidalia; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a half-sister, Mary Lou M. Knox of North Carolina.

Pallbearers will be Billy Skates, Tim Skates, Luke Thomas, Daniel Smith, Adams Spence and Joe T. James.
