Natchez man arrested in robbery of three

A Natchez man was arrested Saturday after allegedly robbing three men at gunpoint.
Johnny Anthony Edney, 50, 714 Rankin St., was arrested on charges of armed robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia Saturday morning.
Bond for the possession charge was set at $704. No bond has been set for the robbery charge. He was held at Natchez city jail Saturday.
Three men were leaving a club on Martin Luther King Street when three men approached them holding weapons, according to a police report.
Two of the suspects had firearms and one had a knife, according to the report.
One of the suspects hit one of the alleged victims in the head with a pistol. Another held a knife at one of the victims’ throats until he handed over money.
The three suspects took $10 from one man, $7 from another and $2 from the third.
Natchez Police arrested Edney early Saturday morning, according to his arrest report.
None of the three alleged victims were seriously hurt in the incident, according to a spokesman for the Natchez Police Department.
Police are still investigating the case, including the two remaining armed robbery suspects, he said.
