For the second day in-a-row, the team of Judge and Reggie Little shot a 65 Saturday to lead the field at the 2007 State Four Ball Championships at Beau Pre Country Club.

Currently the Littles are in first place at 14-under-par, while the pairing of Shane Humphries and Davis Sinclair shot a second-round 64 to maintain their hold on second place at 13-under-par. The team of Donny Holman Jr. and Beck Troutman also turned a 64 at the end of the second round, but after shooting a first-round score of 70, they are tied for fifth place at 10 under par, four strokes off the lead.

“We played good today; we didn’t have any mess-ups,” Reggie Little said. “We just have to do it again tomorrow.”

Little said one of the main keys has been the consistent play by both he and his brother.

“We both have been playing well. We have been hitting fairways and greens,” he said.

Their consistent play has been evident on the Beau Pre par fives, where they have birdied all four in the past two days.

“That’s eight birdies right there. The par fives have been key for us,” Little said.

Little said this tournament marks the first time he has played Beau Pre, and he said the course has held up pretty good.

“I’ve been real happy with the course,” he said. “The fairways are nice and the greens have been holding iron shots.”

But heading into the final round, Little said the competition is tough, and he and Judge must continue to play consistently with 18 holes to go.

“There are a lot of good teams. We will probably need to shoot another seven or eight under par, and hope it holds up,” he said. “We have had a lot of fun, and we always do. We will just have to see how tomorrow goes because there is a lot of golf left.”
