Jesse Hash

Services for Jesse E. Hash, 68, of Natchez, who died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Zabron A. Davis III officiating.

Burial will be at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Hash was born Dec. 6, 1938, in Tipton, Okla., the son of Dewie Woodrow and Edith Edna Finley Hash. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran serving from 1956 until 1978. He retired with the rank of E-6 Petty Officer First Class and Navy Recruiter. He served several tours in Vietnam. He served on the USS Enterprise among other ships. Jess started in the bowling business in Meridian and moved to Natchez in 1978. In his 30 years as a bowling proprietor, he made many long-time friends throughout the local area and state. Mr. Hash was a member and past board member of the Natchez Bowling Association and member and past vice president of Mississippi-Alabama Bowling Association. He was a member of the Bowling Association of America from which he most recently received the 2007 Mississippi Bowling Proprietor of the Year Award. In 1996, he was recognized with the national award for the WIBC Bowling Proprietor of the Year. Other memberships include Moose Lodge and Masons. Jess enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife and friends. He treasured the time spent with his children, grandchildren, niece and nephew.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Allen Hash of Natchez; children, Donald Robert Hash of Brunswick, Ga., William Wayne Hash and wife, Christy, of Natchez and Darrell Lynn Hash of Vidalia; grandchildren, Heath Hash of Madison, Lee Hash, Rob Hash and Michelle Yearick, all of Natchez, Colby Hash of Vidalia, and Alicia Burnette of Ferriday; great-grandchildren, Ryane Maxie and Ruger Burnette, both of Ferriday; sister, Edna Pauline Duggins of Tipton, Okla.; brother, Billy Wayne Seta and wife, Beverly, of Bakersfield, Calif.; brother-in-law, Woodrow Allen Jr. and wife, Sissy, of Natchez; niece, Jennie Anne Allen of Natchez; nephew, Spencer Foster Allen of Natchez; and uncle, Lamar Spencer of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Charles D. Blaney, Vaughn Crook, Glenn Switzer, Mike Smith, Glynn Laird, and Adrian Stallone.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or Cathedral School Development Fund.
