The wait is over. It’s crawfish time once again at Cathedral School.

Cathedral School will be boiling ‘em live and giving away cash at the 23rd annual Crawfish Countdown this Saturday starting at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

This much-anticipated spicy tradition promises a fun-filled evening of great food, an awesome band, and the chance to take home some serious cash.

This legendary event, started 23 years ago, has become one of the best-loved and most fun-filled evenings sponsored by Cathedral School.

The formula is simple — 2,000 pounds of spicy crawfish with lots of corn and potatoes, chicken and sausage jambalaya, ice-cold beverages on tap, homemade desserts and live music from the one and only band Black Bayou.

Add to this a couple hundred good friends and the chance to win $5,000.00, and who could resist?

For a $100 ticket a couple may enjoy all this delicious food and drink, dance the night away, and have a chance to win $5,000. You do not have to be present to win.

David Gaudé and Benny Jeansonne will lead the countdown to separate the winners from the losers. But there will be lots of winners, as every 20th ticket drawn will win back their $100.

The proceeds from the Crawfish Countdown are used to fund a variety of Cathedral School projects, from technology improvements to boosting teacher salaries.

Cathedral has been blessed by literally thousands of friends and supporters who like to combine a good time with a good cause.

These alumni, parents, parishioners and friends, have created what we simply know as the Cathedral family.

We would like to invite all to join us at the Crawfish Countdown this Saturday as we continue this much-loved fund raiser.
