Services for Addie Champlin Calkins, 84, of Monterey, who died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at The Columns Nursing Home, in Jonesville, will be 10 a.m. today at Eva Church of God with the Rev. Gordon Finlay, the Rev. Kevin Sims and the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.

Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Mrs. Calkins was born March 2, 1923, in the Eva community, the daughter of Lonnie M. Champlin and Maudell Champlin. She was a devoted mother, wife, and homemaker. Mrs. Calkins was a member of the Eva Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Calkins Sr.; a daughter, Fannie Calkins; her parents; sisters, Irene Tiffee and Leola Hedrick; and brothers, Houston Champlin and Laures Champlin.

Survivors include her sons, Frank Calkins Jr. and wife, Christine, and Charles Calkins and wife, Sue, all of Monterey; daughter, Millie Hinson and husband, Roy, both of Monterey; brother, Lonnie Champlin Jr. of Goldsboro, N.C.; grandchildren, Roger, Cissy, Josh, Brad and wife, Carrie, and Owen Calkins, Randy and Hope Hinson; seven great-grandchildren; aunt, Annie Mac McNeely of Jonesville; and uncles, Clyde and Kelly Pecanty of Monterey.

Pallbearers will be Roger, Brad, Josh, Owen and Brian Calkins and Doyal Champlin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hinson, Joe Champlin, Glenn and Jackie McNeely, Kenneth Jones, Fred Jones, Jeremy Jones, Rick Sibley and James Green.

Memorial donations may be made to the Eva Church of God Building Fund, 255 Highway 908, Monterey, LA 71354.
