Memorial services for Charles L. McVay, 58, of Homer, who died Saturday, May 19, 2007, from injuries sustained from a trucking accident, will be 7 p.m. today at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Triplet officiating.
Burial will follow Sunday, May 27, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the family cemetery, in Wisner, with the Rev. A. B. Masters officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until services time today at the funeral home.
Mr. McVay was born Jan. 19, 1949, the son of Thomas Jefferson McVay Sr. and Mary Lee Stump McVay. He was a truck driver for Key Energy Services.
Mr. McVay was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, T. J. McVay Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Susan Cole McVay of Homer; a son, Thomas Edward McVay and fiance, Brenda McCormick; daughters, Mary Ann Teachey of Wilmington, N.C., Karen Denise McVay of Gainesville, Texas, and Daina McVay and fiance, Josh Smith; sisters, Polly Hayden of Pasadena, Texas, Ginger Green of Victoria, Texas, Nina Whitehead of Natchez, Mary Alice McLaughlin of Brookhaven, and Betty Colley of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, John McVay of Magnolia, Marvin Ray Bunch and George Thomas Bunch, both of Liberty; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
