Services for John Patrick “Gip” Gibson, 37, of Natchez, who died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrew AME Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenburg officiating.

Mr. Gibson was born July 29, 1969, in Natchez, the son of Warrenton and Patricia Bacon. He was a member of the 1989 class of South Natchez High School. He was a member of St. Andrew AME Church.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mable Gibson; and great-grandmother, Luberta Collins.

Survivors include his parents, Warrenton and Patricia Bacon; sister, Shawanda Bacon of Virginia; special aunt, Lucille Butler; aunts, Betty Hunt of Natchez and Marilyn Foster of Atlanta; uncles, Willie Hunt of Illinois, Aaron Gibson of New Jersey, the Rev. Ronnie Gibson and Robert Gibson, both of California and David Gibson of Natchez; special cousins ShaKeisha Butler, Tony Foster and Jerry Hunt and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
