Services for Nancy Alice Wheat, 53, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 21, 2007, in Jackson, will be 4 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pearson officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ms. Wheat was born July 27, 1953, in Natchez, the daughter of Sylvester Thelbert Wheat and Vada Belle Tyner Wheat. She was a member of Community Chapel Church of God. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in education from University of Southern Mississippi and previously taught in the Natchez-Adams School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Wayne Wheat and Dewitt Landrith.

Survivors include a sister, Joyce Roberts and husband, Donald, brother, Curt Wheat and wife, Diane, all of Natchez; sisters-in-law, Pat Wheat of Mobile, Ala. and Diane Landrith of Tucson, Ariz.; nieces and nephews, Donna, Tommy, Lynn, Lisa, David, Dale, Warren, Kevin, Marletta, Shawn, Lil Wayne, Kathy, Peggy, Roy, Drew, and Danny; special niece, Pam Roberts; 24 great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Warren Wheat, Dale Wheat, Tommy Roberts, David Roberts, Bryan Roberts, Jerry Young, Darrell White and Michael Wilson.
