Lucille Aucoin

Services for Lucille Lombardo Aucoin, 99, of Natchez, Miss., who died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Aucoin was born May 30, 1907, in Newellton, La., the daughter of Frank Joseph and Annie Berri Lombardo.

She was a member of St. Mary Basilica, where she served in the Ladies Alter Society for 60 years. She was also a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club. She and her husband owned and operated the Roselawn store from 1947 to 1977.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward Joseph Aucoin, brothers Frank J. Lombardo Jr. and John Berri Lombardo and sisters Adella L. Warren, Mary L. Trindle and Annette L. Davidson.

Survivors include her son, Edward J. Aucoin Jr. and wife Patsy, both of Jackson, daughter Barbara Aucoin of Natchez, grandsons Kenneth E. Aucoin and wife Bth of Brandon, Miss., and Michael K. Aucoin and wife Teri, both of New Providence, Iowa, great grandsons Kaelan and Edward Aucoin, great granddaughter Nicole Aucoin, and half-sister Olga Siegenthaler of New Orleans.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Aucoin, Michael Aucoin, Ferdie Passbach, Peter Davis, Joe Garrity, Freddie Voss and Sidney F. Plaisance Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Clifford Tillman, Dr. Barry F. Tillman, Bill Tickell, Hugh Freeman, Donald D. Aucoin and William A. White.

Memorials may be made to Cathedral School or Natchez Children’s Home.
