Dorothy “Dottie” Steen Biglane

NATCHEZ — Services for Dorothy “Dottie” Steen Biglane, 86, of Natchez, who died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Baptist Medical Center, in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating at the Mass of the Resurrection with con-celebrants the Rev. Alfred Camp and the Rev. Michael O’Brien.

Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at St. Mary Basilica and Friday from 10 until service time at the church.

Mrs. Biglane was born in Ashton, Iowa; and since moving to Natchez with her husband, Noland Edward Biglane in 1948, she was a devoted member of St. Mary Basilica where she served through the years on the Natchez Garden Club, the Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group, and the Monday/Thursday Morning Exercise Class. Above all, she was devoted to her faith and her family.

She was preceded in death by parents; and a brother.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Noland Biglane, and their eight children and their spouses, Linda Biglane Pieklik and husband, John; both of Jackson, Freddie Biglane and wife, Jean, of Natchez, Judy Biglane Marchesini and husband, Claude, both of Greenville, Mike Biglane and wife, Scarla, both of Pass Christian, Kay Biglane Taylor and husband, John, both of Natchez, Pat Biglane and wife, Karen, both of Vidalia, Nancy Biglane Kuehnle and husband, Bruce, of Natchez, and Mary Jane Biglane Dahlander and husband, Gerry, both of Dallas, Texas

Survivors also include her grandchildren, Stephen Pieklik and wife, Shelly, both of Pittsburgh, Pa., Alex Pieklik of Chicago, Derick Biglane and wife, Lisa, both of Hernando, Rebecca Biglane Black and husband, David, both of Dallas, Barr Biglane of Jackson, John Biglane Marchesini of San Diego, Kathryn Marchesini of Arlington, Va., Megan Marchesini of New York, N.Y., Lauren Biglane of Natchez, Presley Taylor of Jackson, Patrick Biglane of Vidalia, Julia Rachel Kuehnle of Natchez, and Katherine Dahlander, Mary Margaret Dahlander, and Emily Dahlander all of Dallas.

She also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Beau Biglane and Ali Biglane of Hernando and Avery Black of Dallas; her sister-in-law, Lavonne Seurer of Hutchinson, Minn.; three nieces, Micki Guetzkow and husband, Rick, of Waterstown, Minn., S. Renae Ross and husband, Andy, of Greenwood, Ill.; and Kate Stanford and husband, Forrest, of Minneapolis, Minn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Derick Biglane, Stephen Pieklik, John Noland Marchesini, Barr Biglane, Alex Pieklik, Patrick Biglane and Hunter Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Fortunato, James Biglane, Andy Ross, Forrest Stanford, Rick Guetzkow, Bill Haney and Phil Vasser.
