DEVILLE, La. — Services for Billye Evans, 73, of Deville, who died Thursday, May 31, 2007, in Deville, will be 10 a.m. today at Utility Baptist Church with Bro. James Foster officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, Jonesville.

Mrs. Evans was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Wisner, the daughter of Preston S. Hair and Georgia O. Hair. She was a homemaker and a member of Utility Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Zachmye; and her parents.

Survivors include her husband, C. F. Evans of Deville; daughter, Susan Briggs of Texas; sons, Mark Zachmye of West Virginia; stepson, Gary Evans and wife, Tina; stepdaughter, Theresa Barksdale, all of Pineville; grandson, David Evans; granddaughter, Billie Sue Stroud; and brothers, Don Hair and wife, Ruby Jean, and Ronnie Hair and wife, Raye Hair, all of Alexandria.

Pallbearers will be Chris Freeman, Bill Crawford, Mike Taylor, Mike Stoops, David Wade and Jimmy Wade.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Oliphant, Joe McGee, Marcus Evans, Ed Taylor, George Evans and Jack Taunton.
