NATCHEZ — A runaway tractor-trailer resulted in a five-car wreck Wednesday afternoon.

A tractor-trailer was parked on the side of U.S. 61 South when its parking breaks failed, Natchez Police Department Lt. Tom McGehee said Thursday, reading from a police report.

The truck rolled down the roadway, hitting five parked cars, two street signs and a mailbox.

All the cars, as well as the truck, were parked and unattended. No one was injured in the process.

The truck was owned by L.J. Denny of Ferriday.
