Alfonso Johnson

NATCHEZ — Services for Alfonso D. Johnson, 70, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Glenburney Health Care Center, will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church .

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Adams County, the son of Ben Johnson and Delia Hunt Johnson. He was a member of the deacon board at Morning Pilgrim, an active hunting club member and Masonic member. He was retired from Amoco Chemical Company. What he loved most of all was spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie D. Johnson; sisters, L. D. Davis and Isabelle Brown; and brothers, Charlie Johnson, Henry Johnson and Bennie Johnson.

Survivors include his daughters, Diana D. Albert and Yvonne Morgan, both of Natchez; sons, Herb Davis and wife, Doris, and Melvin Davis and wife, Kelly, all of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Zella M. Felton; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
