BELZONI — Services for Joseph E. “Joe” Freund, 90, of Ridgeland, who died Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Hospice Ministries, in Ridgeland, were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial followed at Belzoni City Cemetery under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home.

Mr. Freund was a 32nd Shriner, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and flying his airplane. He was a member of First Baptist Church Jackson, Madison Campus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth King Freund; sons, David Freund and Charles Freund; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Kilpatrick Freund of Madison; daughters, Carolyn Hicks of Scotland community, Yazoo County, Barbara Wade of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Laura Martins and husband, Ed, both of Cordova, Tenn., Charlotte Brent of Madison and Rhonda Kammerdeiner and husband, Ricky, of Madison; a son, Woody Gibson of Texas; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Beland of Bloomington, Ind., Sarah Jane Hudson of The Woodlands, Texas, Ann Burns of Claremont, Calif., and Edna Linn Upchurch and husband, Raymond, both of Texarkana, Ark.; a brother, Thomas Coleman Freund of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bill Gallaway of Madison.
