WOODVILLE — Services for Allen Dean Hauer Sr., who died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at his home, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Singleton Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Bell officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery No. 2 under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home, Woodville.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hauer was born Jan. 4, 1949, in Natchez, the son of the Rev. Everett Hauer and Edna Gibbs Hauer. “Red,” as he was affectionately known, accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and became a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church on Jackson Point under the leadership of the Rev. W.L. Bell. Allen was a graduate of Wilkinson County Training School. He then attended Alcorn State University, pursing studies in mechanical drafting. He then entered the workforce until his death. His passions in life included hunting, fishing, horseback riding, raising and training hunting dogs and serving his fellow man in whatever capacity needed. He was known for his expertise in “turkey calling.” He will also be remembered for his involvement to the Percy Creek Softball team, The Percy Creek Longhorns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; three aunts; eight uncles; and one niece.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rosie Mae of Woodville; a daughter, Anedra A. Bruster of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Allen D. Hauer Jr. of Woodville; two grandchildren of Orlando; brothers, Alvin Hauer and wife, Joyce, of Monroe, Anthony Hauer and wife, Lisa, of Natchez, and Aubrey Hauer and wife, Jennifer, of Zachary; sisters, Daisy Williams and husband, Eugene, and Catherine Chatman and husband, Renard, all of Vidalia, Ernestine H. Scott of Arlington, Texas, Linda H. Green of Woodville, Evelyn Zeno and husband, Brian, of Zachary; a special friend, Allie “Dus” Veals; 11 nieces; six nephews; seven great-nieces; four great-nephews; nine sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allen D. Hauer Memorial Fund at Concordia Bank or Chase Bank.
