WINNSBORO, La. — All the Ferriday Dixie Girls All-Star Team had to do was beat Jonesville Tuesday night to make it to the championship game.

No problem.

Winning pitcher Alyx Atkinson was able to hold Jonesville to two runs as they went on to win 20-2 in game that lasted just four innings.

The Ferriday All-Stars tallied a total of 18 hits. Heather Havard and Atkinson led the team with three hits and Whitney Roark, Kristen Olgesby, Leslie Wagoner and Melissa McFarland all connected for two hits each.

Roark and Wagoner each had a triple and McFarland hit for a double.

When they suit up to play the winner of the Winnsboro, West Carroll game, they will be without starting catcher Taylor Stewart. She injured her knee while sliding Tuesday night. Ferriday has lost only one tournament game.
