DEVILLE, La. — Graveside services for Kennedy Elizabeth Thompson, who died Sunday, July, 1, 2007, at Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital after a very courageous battle, will be 4 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Gardner officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Kennedy was born March 12, 2007, 16 weeks premature, weighing only 15.2 ounces. She was a fighter until the end. She is now resting in God’s arms.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Alvin Chevallier; maternal great-grandmother, Maxine E. Herron; and paternal great-grandfather, James “Dude” Jones.

Survivors include her parents, Derrick and Virginia Thompson of Jonesville; maternal grandparents, Jack and Royce Colclasure of Jonesville; paternal grandparents, David and Tammie Thompson of Winnfield; maternal great-grandmother, Virginia Chevallier of Jonesville; paternal great-grandmother, Louise Jones of Winnfield; paternal great-grandparents, Waymon and Alice Thompson of Waggaman, La.; uncles and aunts, Kevin and Julie Colclasure and John Austin Colclasure, all of Jonesville, Michael and Michelle Thompson, Jeremy Thompson and Ashley Thompson, all of Winnfield; cousins, Jade Colclasure, Blakelynn Colclasure and Brianna Colclasure, all of Jonesville, Cameron Moore, Landon Thompson and Chloe Allwell, all of Winnfield; a number of other aunts, uncles, cousins and family friends,

Pallbearers will be Kevin Colclasure, John Austin Colclasure, Michael Thompson and Jeremy Thompson.

The family extends it sincerest gratitude to the staff of Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Cody Henderson, Dr. Robert Schroder and all of Kennedy’s NICU nurses. Memorial may be made to the March of Dimes.
