CHURCH HILL — Services for Carney Ray Morris, 66, of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Bude.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Morris was born Sept. 16, 1940, in Cannonsburg, the son of Carney Morris and Dorothy Ware Morris Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tammie Y. Christmas; a son, Claude T. Williams; a sister, Flora Kizee; and brothers, Charles Morris, David Morris and Paul Winfield.
Survivors include a devoted and loving wife, Mary L. Morris of Natchez; sons, Percy Williams of Natchez, Carney Morris Jr. of Los Angeles, and Bobby Thomas of Chicago; stepdaughter, Barbara Fitzgerald of Los Angeles; sisters, Georgia Patterson and Gertrude Norman, both of Natchez, Pearlena Patterson of Fayette and Patricia Peuh of Las Vegas; brothers, Ralph Patterson and wife, Rose, and Walter Patterson and wife, Mary Ann, all of Natchez; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two aunts; two brothers-in-law; a sister-in-law; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
