VIDALIA — Six area residents were arrested on various drug charges at Donald’s Camper Village near Vidalia Thursday.

A minor, age 16, was released into his parents’ custody after the arrests.

The trailer they were allegedly using drugs in was reportedly issued by FEMA, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kathleen Stevens said.

Sheriff Randy Maxwell said the sheriff’s office plans to notify FEMA of the arrests.

“It’s one thing to receive assistance when there is a true need, but this is more than ridiculous to be using and dealing drugs out of a FEMA trailer,” he said.

The arrests were made after Deputies Chris Groh and Billy Joe Ratcliff were patrolling the trailer park. When Groh parked the CPSO patrol car, the arrested allegedly started running.

The deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the trailer where the suspects had been, and some of the arrested allegedly had drugs in their pockets.

One of the arrested, LaTasha Y. Washington, 27, of Natchez, allegedly tried to bring drugs into a parish correctional facility in her underwear. Washington was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Others arrested include:

4Ray D. Dunbar, 25, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of marijuana (second offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4Roland B. Dunbar, 21, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4Benjamin Williams Jr., 18, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and flight from an officer.

4Daniel B. Omiyewo, 19, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of marijuana (second offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

4Johnny L. Rice Jr., 20, of Vidalia, on charges of possession of hydrocodone and flight from an officer.
