TEN YEARS AGO — Dustin Case hits a two-run home run in the first inning and David Alton New III has a two-run single in the fourth as the Natchez Rebel League defeats the Natchez Confederate League 12-2 to advance to the finals of the Dixie Youth 9-10 Sub-District Tournament.
FIVE YEARS AGO — After the team of Larry Davis and Paul Sparks miss a birdie on No. 17, Gary Farmer makes a 25-foot putt for birdie on No. 18 as he and David Cothren repeat as champions in the Wharlest Jackson Elks Lodge No. 1675 Golf Tournament.
