Ridgecrest — All Ridgecrest area residents are invited to attend a neighborhood watch meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The meeting will be at the Ridgecrest Baptist Church fellowship hall, 502 Ferriday Drive, and supper will be served.

“Not only are we encouraging everyone in the Town of Ridgecrest to attend this meeting, but everyone living in the surrounding area,” Concordia Parish Sheriff Randy Maxwell said. “We have some vital safety issues to discuss, and it’s a great way to get to know your neighbors.”

Maxwell said drug issues will be discussed, as well as residential safety and ways to avoid identity theft and telemarketing scams.

Neighborhood watch provides a link between law enforcement and the community, with friends and neighbors watching out for each other’s personal safety and property.

CPSO Deputy George Loomis serves at the neighborhood watch coordinator.
