Natchez 11s come up short

SUMMIT — The Natchez 11-year-old All-Stars came up one game short of advancing to the finals of the District 6 District Tournament as they lost to McComb 21-3 Friday night and their season came to an end.
“We stared out fine. It was 4-1 after two innings. By the third inning, they scored a bunch of runs,” Natchez head coach Bruce Ross said.
Even though Turner Janette was the losing pitcher for Natchez, McComb didn’t hit the ball real hard until the third inning — and that’s when the game changed.
McComb added several more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to put the game out of reach and advance to the finals against Wesson.
“The fourth inning they really busted it open,” Ross said. “They hit the ball. We didn’t have any multiple hits.”
