EVA, La. — Services for Harvey Carlton Pecanty Sr., 72, of Monterey, who died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Eva Church of God with the Rev. Lloyd Trisler officiating.

Burial will follow at Morace Family Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation is until service time today at the church.

Mr. Pecanty was born July 23, 1934, in Jonesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Artie Pecanty.

Survivors include his wife, Verdya Trisler Pecanty of Monterey; son, Carl Pecanty and wife, Melissa and John Pecanty, all of Monterey; daughter, Lucy Pecanty Terry and husband, Ken of Harrisonburg, La.; grandchildren, Ryan Pecanty, Bryan Pecanty and wife, Becky, Jordan, Rachel and Morgan Pecanty, all of Monterey, Amanda McGuffee and husband, Lee and Daniel Terry of Harrisonburg; great grandsons, Matthew and Gavin Pecanty of Monterey; sisters, Claudine Boles and husband, Burton and Cora Jean Reese and husband, Larry, all of Monterey.

Pallbearers will be James Edmond Book, Levear Book, Morgan Book, Bobby Ray Book, John Brigman, Lee Dale, Donnie White and Larry Reese.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Pecanty, Bryan Pecanty, Daniel Terry, Lee McGuffee and Richey Boles.
