NATCHEZ — Services for Sam Woods, 99, of Natchez, who died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be noon Friday at King Solomon Baptist Church with the Rev. Freddie Schiele officiating.

Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Woods was born June 15, 1908, in Adams County, the son of Steve Woods and Charlotte Foster Woods. He was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church and a retired painter and carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, Alice H. Bolden Woods of Natchez; daughters, Ella Dee Watkins of Chicago, Earnestine Hickman of Metairie, La. and Rita J. Bolden of Natchez; sons, Johnny Bolden of Bel Air, Md., Sam Woods Jr. and Ernest Woods, both of Natchez and Albert Woods and wife, Gwendolyn, of Atlanta; brother, Moses Woods of Natchez; and sisters, Alice Agee and Bertha Alrige, both of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the church.
