TWENTY YEARS AGO — John Beylouni, one of the top seeds in the Boys’ 12-year-old division, was undefeated after three days of competition at the Mississippi Closed Tournament in Jackson after defeating Bill Lowe in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2.

TEN YEARS AGO — Phillip Eidt hits a grand slam home run, Chris Rasco hits a solo home run and T.J. Wilson has three hits as the Natchez Rebel League 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars defeat Southwest Rankin 16-8 at the Dixie Youth State Tournament in Summit.

FIVE YEARS AGO — James Logan, the younger brother of former Natchez High standout Nook Logan, hits a two-run single in the top of the fifth inning as the Natchez Wallace League All-Stars defeat Moss Point 4-2 to stay undefeated at the state tournament.
