DOLOROSO — Services for Sam “Mr. Butler” Wilson, 92, of Doloroso, who died Sunday, July 29, 2007, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Brooks officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Homein Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Wilson was born Jan. 17, 1915, in Doloroso, the son of Major Wilson and Easter Wells. He was retired from Georgia Pacific. Mr. Wilson was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church’s deacon board and Sunday school. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Woodrow Wilson; and daughter, Myrtis Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Carter Wilson of Woodville; sons, Thomas, Arthur and Joseph Wilson, all of Dallas, Lawrence Wilson of Lawton, Okla., Samuel Wilson of Woodville and Hard Wilson of Baton Rouge; daughters, Christine Earls of Baton Rouge, Bertha W. Jones of Dallas, and Linda W. Green of Kenner; brother, Thomas Wilson of Dallas; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
