BRANDON — Memorial services and visitation for Kenneth Ott Williams, M.D., 77, of Brandon, who died Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at his residence, will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. today at Brandon Baptist Church and also from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. today at Osyka Baptist Church in Osyka.
Dr. Williams was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Osyka, the son of Bernard Richard Williams Sr. and Ruby Dean Ott Williams. He attended school at Osyka and Southwest Mississippi Junior College prior to sailing in the Merchant Marines. He served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He obtained a degree in agriculture from Southwestern Louisiana College at Hammond, La. After earning an M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, he practiced general medicine in Osyka and Crosby. Dr. Williams returned to the University of Mississippi Medical Center to obtain a specialty in radiology. His radiology career was centered at Rankin Medical Center in Brandon, where he practiced in partnership with his wife, Dr. Nancy Burrow until his retirement. He served as Chief of Staff and as a member of the Board of Trustees at Rankin Medical Center. He was an Eagle Scout and served on the Honorary Board of Trustees for BanCorpSouth. He was loved and respected by all who knew and worked with him.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Nancy Watts Burrow; daughters, Bridget Green and husband, Glenn, of Natchez and Harriet Bilbo of Jackson; his sons, Kenneth Ott Williams Jr. of Natchez and Dr. Ben Richard Williams and wife, Kim, both of Memphis; granddaughters, Vicki Kirpatrick Bobo, Anna Katherine Williams, Ann Regan Bilbo, Virginia Elise Williams, Natalie Bridges Phillips, Catherine Elizabeth Bilbo and Margaret Dean Williams; grandsons, James Daniel Alldredge and Zachary Edge Williams; brother, Bernard Richard Williams and wife, Linda, both of Osyka, and their children, Bernard Richard Williams III and Lou Ellen Williams and other loving surviving family members too numerous to name.
Dr. Williams was a life long member of Osyka Baptist Church.
