Trinity graduate finds fame on Real World

It seems like just yesterday that I was sitting in class at Trinity, with Dunny, or as how the rest of the nation now knows him as Dunbar Flinn. Yes, it’s true one of our own is now a semi-famous star and is considered the “token hottie” on MTV’s popular reality show “The Real World.” For those of you that don’t know what “The Real World” is, it’s a reality series that consists of seven strangers that are picked to live together. This season the cast will call Sydney, Australia, their temporary home.
The cast member are typically very different in many ways. MTV wants the cast to have these differences because differences make drama, and drama makes for good TV. I had to explain to my parents what “The Real World” was, before we tuned in to watch our Natchez native’s big debut.
The series premier was 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8. If you missed, there will be re-runs.
I’ve always thought someone from Natchez would end up on “The Real World.” I have to give a hand to Natchez people, because I’ve lived in two other places and there is no where like home, nor are the people as awesome as they are here. I’m so happy we have Dunny representing our town. Not only is he devilishly good looking, Dunny really is the epitome of a Southern gentleman. He’s been called the “heartthrob” of the show, and if you tune in I’m sure you will see why. His part on the show gives Natchez a little publicity too; he calls Natchez beautiful and majestic, as he shows some brief footage of Natchez on a home video on national television. He also said he was more proud to be Southern than he was American. You can check this out at: www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1565594&vid=166418, on the Web. Watch the show next week at 9 p.m. Wednesday night and you will be very pleased to see our Dunbar on national TV.
