NATCHEZ – Services for Josie “JoMarie” King Edwards, 64, of Natchez, who died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital, in Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Baptist Church, in Kingston, with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Edwards was born June 3, 1944, in Natchez, the daughter of Elouise King Evans and Clarence White. She was a former manager at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Mrs. Edwards was retired from Wal-Mart. She was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Randolph Scott and Robert Scott Jr.; grandchildren, LaToya M. White and Byron White; and brother, Leon Washington.
Survivors include her husband, Ewart Edwards of Mississippi; children, Daphane Allen of Marietta, Ga., Clarence White of Austell, Ga., Marceline White and husband, Garrie, of Biloxi and Jacqueline Harris and husband, Samuel, of Theodore, Ala.; sister, Debra Knapp and husband, Gift, of Clinton; brothers, James Lee Evans of Jackson and Raymond Evans of Meridian; aunts, Sarah Hayes and Florence Shields, both of Natchez; uncle, Arthur White of Oakland, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, many special friends and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
