FERRIDAY – Services for Joseph O’Neal, 72, of Baton Rouge, formerly of Ferriday, who died Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Hospital, will be 11 a.m. today at New Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Conner.
Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. O’Neal was born May 3, 1935, in Foules, La., the son of Phil and Savannah Washington O’Neal. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son,Joseph O’Neal Jr.; sisters Mildred Williams, Pearl Scott, Geneva Hall and Barbara Kornbacher; and brothers Edward O’Neal and Willie Hall.
Survivors include daughter Ann Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters Lizzie Powell of Clayton, Jessie Simms, Janie Mae McClain, Willie O. Montgomery and Mildred Davis, all of Ferriday; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
