Viva Aarons

VIDALIA – Services for Viva C. Aarons, 88, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007 at Camelot Leisure Living in Ferriday, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Young’s Funeral Home, in Vidalia, with the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.

Burial will follow at Old Catahoula Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aarons was born April 16, 1919 in Enterprise, the daughter of Nathan Poole and Dessa McVay Poole. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Vidalia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Aarons; her parents; sons Billy Mack Aarons and James Aarons; daughter Dessa Johnson; daughter-in-law Mildred Aarons; brother David Poole; and sisters Verda Chapman and Mildred Morvan.

Survivors include her son Douglas Aarons and wife, Vivian, of Vidalia; daughters Jo Ann Beach and husband, Edwin, and Judy Aarons, all of Vidalia; brothers N.H. Poole of Jena, Hershel Poole and Lindell Poole, both of Enterprise; sisters, Effie Lea Roark and Jolene McGuffee, both of Enterprise; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Steven Johnson, Eddie Beach, Drue Beach, Curtis Roark and Rodney Woodruff.
