VIDALIA — Services for Grace Bruce, 89, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Young’s Funeral Home, in Vidalia, with the Rev. Dan Glenn officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Winnsboro, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bruce was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Belmont, La., the daughter of John Meddie Davis and Lola Nichols Davis. She was a member of Vidalia First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Blue Bell Garment Factory, American Eagle and managed the cafeteria at Johns-Mansville in Natchez. She was also a homemaker.
Mrs. Bruce was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “L.C.” Bruce; son, Robert “Bob” Bruce; her parents; three brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her sons, Edward Bruce and wife, Margie, and Wesley Bruce and wife, Ann, all of Vidalia; daughter-in-law, Gwen McKinney; brothers, Percy Davis, Talley Davis and Tommy Davis; seven grandchildren, Donna Eliser, Kevin Bruce, Ricky Bruce, Amanda Thomas, Robin Stahlman, Bobby Bruce and John Bruce; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Otis Bruce of Newellton; long time caregiver, Dorothy “Dot” Dutton and special friend, Paul Reed.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Bruce, Ricky Bruce, Bobby Bruce, John Bruce, Bill Stahlman and James Thomas.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Vidalia or a charity of choice.
