FERRIDAY — Services for Gutha Shannon Willis, 87, of Lake Concordia, who died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at her residence, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Barry Dennis officiating.

Burial will follow at Nolley Memorial Cemetery in Jena under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Mrs. Willis was born Nov. 6, 1919, in Vick, La., the daughter of Stephen Thomas Shannon and Nettie Bardwell Shannon.

She was a retired bank teller with Concordia Bank & Trust and a member of Sevier Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alton L. “Jiggs” Willis; six brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include daughter Judy and her husband Paul Goldfield, both of Rome, Italy; daughter Karen Willis of Ferriday; granddaughter Erica Livi of Ferriday; and brother Barron Shannon of Vick, La.

Pallbearers will be Ed Lytle, Mike Shannon, Bill Campbell, Randy Miller, Andy Anders and Jay Lasyone.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Daye, Dr. Herman Gibson Jr., Dr. Tom Purvis and Dane Paul.
