NATCHEZ – Services for Curtis M. Jones, 82, of Natchez, who died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Promise Specialty Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Parkview Church of God with the Revs. Victor Stewart and Hurshel Hale officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Jones was born April 21, 1925, in Franklin County, the son of Pink Jones Sr. and Nettie Wallace Jones. He attended Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church. He was retired from International Paper Company after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mr. Jones was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Inez Cain, Bertha Lee Mullins and brother, Nathaniel Jones.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Irene Harrigill Jones; son, Curtis Glenn Jones and wife, Melba; daughter, Virginia Hale and husband, Kenneth, all of Natchez; grandchildren, Jennifer Pitre and husband, Randy, of Vidalia, Kenneth “Beau” Hale II and wife, Holly, of Natchez; great-grandchildren, John-Austin Pitre, Keri-Alisabeth Pitre and Phoebe-Claire Hale; brother, Pink Jones Jr. and wife, Faye, of Cleveland, Tenn.; sisters, Frances Dunn and husband, Rufus, of Natchez and Alice Case of Terry; brother-in-law, Donald Cain; sister-in-law, Audrey Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Glenn Jones, Kenneth Hale, Kenneth “Beau” Hale II, Randy Pitre, Pink Jones Jr. and Wayne Felter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Felter, Claude Harrigill, Richard Rhodes, Woodroe Alexander, Preston Dean and Dr. Leslie England.
