NATCHEZ – Services for Howard Ransom Jr., 92, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Murray Temple Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Elijah Lewis Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Paul Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Ransom was born March 22, 1915, in Washington, the son of Howard Sr. and Rosie Ransom. Mr. Ransom was a member of Murray Temple Church of God in Church. He was a member of Plasters and Cement Mason’s Association-Local 567. He was retired.

Survivors include his wife, Marie “Fannie” W. Ransom; daughters, Evelyn Ransom and Elizabeth Harris; brothers, Ordley Ransom and wife, Thelma, and Clarence Ransom; sisters, Bessie Ransom, Estella Ransom and Marie Singleton; granddaughter, Ria Harris and great-grandson, Ahmad Hill; sister-in-law, Annie Laura Squalls; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Larnell Ford, Cordell Ransom, Charlie Reed, Audley Ransom and Benjamin Dukes.
