VIDALIA — Services for Margie Partin Dennis, of Vidalia, who entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Vidalia.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Mrs. Dennis was born Jan. 31, 1922, a native of Clinton, La., the daughter of Ralph Partin Sr. and Clara Partin. She served as a Sunday School teacher to young people and young adults for 29 years in Port Barre, Opelousas and Alabaster, Ala., as well as to senior adults for 21 years at First Baptist Church in Vidalia. For 32 years she and her husband faithfully ministered to the residents of various nursing homes near the towns where they lived.

She was well loved, living her life in God’s service, loving and serving others, and was always quick to smile, laugh and forgive. She was known for her generous heart, spiritual counsel and beautiful smile. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and strength. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife and mother who treasured her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all those whose lives she touched.

Mrs. Dennis was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Vera Guglielmo and brother, Ralph Partin Jr.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William Dennis of Vidalia; daughter, Shanta Dennis Hollier and husband, Dr. Johnny Hollier, of Mandeville; sons, Patrick Dennis and Tim Dennis and wife, Dianne, all of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; nieces, Linda Denham and husband, Foxy Denham of Baton Rouge and Susan Renee Wilhite of Lake Charles; nephews, Jules Gugllelmo Jr., Gregory Gugllelmo and Michael Gugllelmo, all of Lake Charles.

The family thanks Mrs. Dennis’s friends and church family of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia for their faithful support and prayers. The family also wishes to thank the staff of Hospice of Vidalia and Four Rivers Home Health for their support, compassion and friendship during this difficult time.
