BATON ROUGE – Services for Lawrence Edwin “Larry” “Sonny” Strahan, 77, of Baton Rouge, who died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, due to complications from a short illness, were1973 – at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at VFW, 13214 S. Choctaw Drive.
Mr. Strahan was a retired mechanical engineer. He attended Louisiana Tech University. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served from 1950 to 1955. Mr. Strahan was a member of the VFW, American Legion and American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonzo Lawrence Strahan and step-mother, Anna Belle Strahan, his mother, Maude Leo Sanders and a brother, O.F. Still Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Maybrey Elizabeth Strahan; daughter, Lari Elizabeth Strahan of Baton Rouge; sons, Clarence Edwin Strahan of Harrisburg, N.C. and Robert Frederick Strahan of Bristol, Tenn.; sisters, Violet “Shirley” Bliss of Jackson, Bobbie Whittle of Bradford, Ill., Vicky Laird of McCall Creek, Regina Tucker of Byram, Freda Bryant and Patsy Wyatt, both of Melrose, Fla.; brothers, George Strahan of McCall Creek, Lonnie Strahan of Natchez and Don Still of Meridian; grandchildren, Eric A. Strahan and Robert O. Cosby, both of Baton Rouge, Benjamin D. Strahan, Ashley D. Strahan and Candise D. Mallette, all of Bristol, Allison L. Strahan and Brian L. Strahan, both of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bryson Cosby of Baton Rouge and Alex Edwin Mallette of Bristol.
