Mildred Leake

WOODVILLE – Services for Mildred Breland Leake, 91, of St. Francisville, who died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2007, at Lane Memorial Hospital, in Zachary, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Woodville Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary M. Bunch officiating.

Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, in Woodville, under the direction of Brown Funeral Home in Gloster.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Leake was born May 26, 1916, in Hattiesburg, the daughter of William and Ellie Mae Brown Breland. She was a retired captain and pilot with the U.S. Navy. She was past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the State of Mississippi Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Leake was also a longtime member of the Woodville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harvey L. Leake, a brother, William Breland Jr. and sisters, Kathryn Breland and Dorothy Graham.

Survivors include her brother, Greg Breland of Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Frank E. Bell Jr., Howard Lee Carter, Robert A. Hartness Jr., Curtis E. Lanehart, James C. Leak and Chadwick J. Vines.

Honorary pallbearers will be Julius M. Carter, Robert A. Hartness Sr., Billy Joe Jones, E.M. Kee Jr., Enloe M. Kee III and Laverne Harper.
