PORT HUDSON – Graveside services for Emmett D. Taylor, 60, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Port Hudson National Cemetery with the Rev. Andy Hitchcock officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.

Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 1, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of Emmett Taylor and Ora Pruitt Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda “Sassy” Taylor of Vidalia; son, Timothy Wayne Taylor and wife, Valerie; grandchildren, Madelyne and Alley Taylor; sisters, Linda Rhodes and husband, Ellis, and Doris Wroten, all of St. Amant; brother, Robert Ray Taylor of Eros; nieces, Sunny Lawless and husband, Aaron of St. Amant and Jenna Bradshaw and husband, Mike, of Calhoun; nephews, Greg Rhodes and wife, Lisa, of West Monroe, Gary Rhodes and wife, Robyn, of Willie, Texas and Benjamin Wroten and wife, Beverly; great-nephews, Zachary and Nicholas Rhodes, Hunter Bradshaw and Holt Wroten; great-nieces, Ashley and Samantha Rhodes, Anna Grace and Emma Kate Lawless; stepson, Ryan Vaught and wife, Jenny, of New Orleans; stepgrandchildren, Cameron and Madison Vaught of New Orleans; brother, Billy Byrnes and wife, Linda, of Vidalia.
