FERRIDAY — Services for Joe Koon Jr., 49, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Koon was born Jan. 9, 1958, in New Orleans, the son of Joe and Ruby Baker Koon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Earl Anderson.

Survivors in a daughter, Marsha Y. Koon of Patterson, Calif.; brothers, Thomas Koon Sr. of El Cerrita, Calif., Rickey Koon of Hercules, Calif. and Gregory Purvis of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
