FERRIDAY – Services for Lucien Snyder Jr., 68, of Elgin, S.C., formerly of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at the Palmetto-Richland Hospital, in Columbia, S.C., will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Old St. Reed Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will follow at Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Snyder was born April 9, 1939, the son of Lucien Snyder Sr. and Edith Thomas Snyder.

He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, Don Elbert Snyder.

Survivors include his wife, Ronnie J. Baker of Elgin, S.C.; mother, Edith Thomas Snyder of Ferriday; sons, Kevin C. Snyder Sr. and wife, Geneva, both of Columbia, S.C. and Jarvis D. Snyder of Elgin; daughter, Angela E. Snyder of Chesapeake, Va.; brothers, Eddie L. Snyder of Ferriday and Carl L. Snyder of Horsham, Pa.; sisters, Melba S. Carr of American Canyon, Calif., Deloris S. Despenza of Ferriday, Marolyn D. Snyder of Conshohocken, Pa. and Carolyn S. Tribble and husband, Harvey, both of Norristown, Pa.; adopted sister, Gayle B. Oree and husband, Samuel, both of Gaston, S.C.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; aunts, Willie Hill and Tressie Thomas, both of Ferriday; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
