WOODVILLE – Services for Marion A. “Red” Yarbrough Sr., 81, of Woodville, who died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Newman Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Warren Whitaker and Kevin Dixon officiating.
Burial will follow at Rogillio Cemetery, in Tunica, La., under the direction of Newman Funeral Home in Centreville.
Mr. Yarbrough was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Coran, La., the son of Pinky Yarbrough and Oveta Kennedy Richmond. He was a retired diesel mechanic and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Bill Richmond; two sisters; and a son-in-law.
Survivors include his wife, Molly Carlisle Yarbrough of Woodville; daughters, Mary Alice Davis of Woodville, Lillie Mae Langley and husband, Kent, both of Zachary, La. and Dorothy Dufour and husband, Joe, both of St. Francisville, La.; sons, Marion “Murdock” Yarbrough Jr. and wife, Yvonne, and Howard “Mickey” Yarbrough and wife, Mary, all of Woodville; sisters, Claudine Dixon of Tunica, La. and Thelma Woods of Grangeville, La.; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Herman Sean Yarbrough, Daniel Langley, James Dufour, Phillip Yarbrough, Justin Davis, George Davis and Spencer Yarbrough.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bubba Sanders, Sonny Sanders, Todd Sanders and Dr. Jennings Owens.
