William Shepard

WALDRON, Ark. — A private family memorial service for William “Bill” Arthur Shepard, 73, of Waldron, Ark., who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at Mercy Nursing Center in Waldron, will be Nov. 17, 2007 with Father Mike Collins conducting the service.

He was a retired welder and resident of Waldron and a native of Monroe. He was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, Class of 1953. He owned his own welding company in Lafayette before retirement. After retirement, he and his wife of 36 years relocated to North Arkansas in the heart of the Ouachita Mountains. He was a wonderful father, great friend and loved husband.

Mr. Shepard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard W. Shepard Sr. and Emma Fisher Shepard and a brother, Howard W. Shepard Jr.

Survivors in his wife, Wanda M. Shepard of Waldron; his first wife and mother of their three daughters, Syble McKay Shepard Ellen of Baton Rouge; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret S. Broussard and Milton “Bubba” C. Broussard Jr., Sara S. Moody and Herman “Hank” N. Moody Jr. and Nancy Shepard-Tarver and Craig Tarver, all of Baton Rouge; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Jack Calhoun, both of Houston; grandchildren, Emily and Charles “Charlie” Broussard and Christian Moody; niece and family, Sharon and Richard Bundy; nephew, Dan Calhoun.
