NATCHEZ — At around 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day the Natchez Police Department responded to a call at Holiday Apartments complex of a man who had been shot in the leg.

One person at the scene identified the wounded man as Davarious Dent.

Police said the victim told them that he had no idea who shot him.

Dent sat in the foyer at the apartment during police questioning after the shooting.

When the ambulance arrived Dent stood and walked from the foyer to the stretcher.

Police at the scene recovered one bullet and one bullet fragment on the front stoop of the apartment were police believed Dent was sitting when he was shot.

In addition police also found one bullet hole in the chair where Dent was sitting.

“We don’t have much information right now,” William Mitchell, an officer at the scene said.
