Ernest Everette Flowers

SUMMIT – Services for Ernest Everette “Pete” Flowers, who died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Camellia Estates, in McComb, will be at 11 a.m. today at Moak Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Alton Foster officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Jones Family Funeral Home in McComb.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Flowers was born Dec. 20, 1925, in Wilkinson County, the son of Larry Clinton Flowers and Claudia Mae Trevillion Flowers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Clinton Flowers Jr.; and sister, Adris Flowers Morris D’Aquila.

Survivors include his wife, Nora Geraldine “Gerry” McGuffee Flowers; his only child, Sonny; sisters, Mary F. Carter and Ruth F. Welsh, both of Woodville, and Vivian Mae Brinson of Kissimmee, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Milton F. D’Aquila of Woodville and Ed Brinson; nephews, Larry Clinton Flowers III, William Vandy Morris III and Haynes Edward Brinson; nieces, Claudia Carter Reed, Connie Carter Waters, and special niece and caregiver, Kay D’Aquila, who shared his birthday.

Pallbearers will be his nephews and some great-nephews, Elwyn Carter Reed, Larry Clinton Flowers IV and Carrol Milton Smith.
